How to prepare artwork & request a print quote

A useful print quote starts with the finished product: what you need, where it will be used, how many you need, and when it must be ready. Send those details with your artwork so Arrowhead Print Co. can review the actual scope.

1. Describe the finished item

Include the product type, finished dimensions, quantity, and whether printing is needed on one or both sides. For a booklet, add the page count and preferred binding. For a banner, explain how it will hang. For a window or vehicle, include photographs and measurements.

2. Explain the application

Describe the surface and environment. Indoor paper print, outdoor signage, packaging labels, and vehicle graphics have different requirements. Tell us about moisture, sun exposure, frequent cleaning, or any other conditions that should affect material selection.

3. Send the best source file you have

Original vector logo files or print-ready PDFs are useful starting points. High-resolution images are useful when the design contains photography. If you only have a small image, screenshot, or editable design link, send it for review and tell us the final print size.

Do not guess at bleed, crop marks, resolution, or color settings. Requirements depend on the product, dimensions, material, and production method. Request the specification for the quoted job before exporting a final file.

4. Check the content before approval

Review spelling, contact details, dates, prices, dimensions, front/back orientation, and placement. Test QR codes and check that small type stays readable. Supply final label wording and approved logos; confirm you have permission to use the artwork.

A screen preview is useful for layout but does not guarantee an exact physical color match. If color matching is important, discuss a reference and the proofing options available for the project.

5. Give the required in-hand date

Include the actual event or installation date and any time needed for shipping or distribution. A quote request is not a confirmed production slot. Materials, artwork approval, finishing, and installation availability all need to fit the schedule.

6. Keep the approved specification

Save the final artwork, product dimensions, material choice, and quantity with your order information. For reorders, identify any changes so the next quote uses the correct version.

Questions before you order

Do I need to know the exact material?

No. Describe where and how the item will be used. We can discuss material options when preparing the quote.

Can I upload artwork through the quote form?

The quote form collects project details. Email artwork to scottimblum@gmail.com and include your name and project so the files can be matched to the request.

Should I add bleed to my artwork?

Ask for the specification for your particular product before final export. The correct setup varies by format and finishing.
